For Museum Catharijneconvent Utrecht we have created an exhibition by projecting sound and image on paintings and objects from the 17th century. The exhibition Traits of Tolerance tells the story of religious tolerance and intolerance in the Dutch Golden Age. Imposing pictures by great masters from the heyday of Dutch painting, superb decorative objects and contemporary photographs provide an answer to the question: how tolerant was the Netherlands back then, and how tolerant are we today?
